As part of the 40th anniversary of the broadcast of the original television mini-series Roots (1977), we invite visitors to explore the meanings and memories of this milestone in the public presentation of black history. We invite our audiences of all backgrounds to share their own memories of this shared experience of watching black history being made and black history being told, within families and across generations, and of discussing the mini-series, at school and at work, at home and across the country.

Screenings of the 2016 television production schedule:

Part 2, Saturday, February 4, 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.

Part 3, Saturday, February 11, 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.

Part 4, Conclusion, Saturday, February 25, 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.
