The Delaware Genealogical Society is a non-profit volunteer organization which encourages and supports genealogical research. It enjoys a close relationship with the Historical Society of Delaware, but is a separate organization.

• DGS does not have its own library, but uses and supports the Historical Society of Delaware Research Library.

• Delaware related books and materials given to DGS become part of the HSD library collections.
